Supported by a lead gift of $10 million from Rex and Dr. Jeanne Sinquefield, the School of Music at the University of Missouri is moving forward with construction of a new building, with groundbreaking now set for January, 2018.

A recent story about the project in the Mizzou student newspaper The Maneater featured comments from faculty members and from Jeanne Sinquefield, who told reporter Olivia Garrett, “I’ve been doing this program for 11 years, and you get to a point that if you want to grow, you need a space. I typically don’t like to give money to buildings unless there’s a clear need. In this particular case, it meant that we could do some really interesting things. Think about it, attracting the best students and the best faculty.”
