Mizzou New Music Initiative
Mizzou New Music Initiative brings together many exciting programs that position the University of Missouri School of Music as a mecca for composition and new music. MNM is the direct result of the generous support of Dr. Jeanne and Mr. Rex Sinquefield and the Sinquefield Charitable Foundation. The Sinquefields’ vision is to create an incubator for the composition and performance of new music, and to position Missouri as a major center for the music of tomorrow.

- Mizzou New Music Summer Festival reveals composers Today, MU released the names of the eight resident composers who will play a prominent role in this summer’s Mizzou New Music Summer Festival, the third go-round of the now-annual event. The festival is a major component of the Mizzou New Music Initiative, an artistic enterprise designed to further Columbia’s status as a modern-day hub for creativity and composition.
